Steven Kasanofsky, DVM, CVA

Dr. Kasanofsky, better known as Dr. K, has been working in veterinary hospitals since 1974 starting in a kennel position. His plan was always to become a veterinarian, and there was no plan b.  Working in various veterinary hospitals to gain experience, he continued his studies until he graduated from the University of Perugia in 1985. Post graduation, time was spent in externships at the Animal Medical Center, to help round out his education. Working in various veterinary hospitals til 1992, he partnered with Dr Phillip Raclyn at Riverside Animal Hospital, Riverside Animal Clinic, and a few years later Riverside Veterinary Group which were sold in 2015.

In 2002 we acquired Yorktown Animal Hospital and in 2018 Peekskill Cortlandt Veterinary Hospital where he is now full-time. He has often said, while caring for his patients and pet parents, he has never worked a day in his life, it is a labor of love. Over the past years, the hospitals have often won Best Veterinary Hospital in Westchester, by Westchester Magazine. In addition, Dr. K had also won an award from the AVMAF, for being in the top 20 veterinarians in the country. He often credits the success of the hospitals to a dedicated staff, as it takes a village. His interests are in Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Dentistry, Acupuncture, etc. He enjoys collaboration and mentoring as well.

Dr Kasanofsky has been married for over 41 years, with 3 adult children, and his 4 th. Col. Sanders his pup. He enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, theater, music, restaurants and just being out and about with friends.
